The artist’s husband playfully suggested she create a piece centered around a liar, a cheat, and a thief. This is a rare instance where the title of the piece preceded the drawing.

In creating “Liar, Cheat, and the Thief”, the artist focused largely on color balance. She was careful not to lose the nefarious qualities of the figures, as they can easily morph into a different expression. Pay attention to the details: did you notice the money bag under the table? Which figure do you think is the liar? The cheat…and the thief? Aren’t we all liars, cheats, and thieves on some level?
