This piece was based on a photo taken of the artist by her husband, making this a quasi self-portrait.

The subject, with her coffee cup, meets our gaze with a direct expression. Her body language tells us she is relaxed, confident, and perhaps has something to say.

The paper constructing the cubist chair is Japanese alphabet paper that Bagwell darkened to create a balance within the hues of the entire work.
